Abell 85 (also known as LBN 576 or CTB 1), is a large supernova remnant in the constellation Cassiopeia, which was originally catalogued by George Abell as a planetary nebula. Compared to the emission lines H-alpha, [SII] and [NII], Abell 85 emits relatively little in the [OIII] and H-beta lines, which is rather typical for supernova bubbles. It was also recognized as a radio source.
